Offline Translator: Spanish HD App Reviews

This is a necessary application for translating between English and Spanish without an internet connection. It is not only services such as Google Translate, but also instantly translate text as an image format. So, I just take a photo of the text that I want to translate, and then, the app will automatically give me the corresponding translations. In summary, this app is really handy, useful and free

I found this Spanish-English translation app useless. I was in Mexico for a week mostly without wifi. I downloaded this app and bought the companion app hoping they would provide translation when I did not have access to Google. As I was traveled around I would enter the words I saw on signs into the app. Its translations were horrible, useless, & sometimes hysterically wrong. I could never trust it. I even bought the 7-1 translation app for use with photographs. With it you can take a picture of Spanish text (like a road sign or instructions printed on a product you might buy in a store) & supposedly the app would translate the text. Wrong! Again, this companion app was useless. First it would not OCR the text well. Second, its translations were useless, ridiculous and plain wrong. Finally, at the airport there were many signs with the English translation directly underneath. I tried the app there. Not once did the app translate an airport sign correctly - NOT ONCE. The positive reviews fooled me. Be forewarned.

Voice does not work when off line. This is why I downloaded app.

Translations were okay. But even after I reviewed the app, I got nagging review requests to the point that the app hung up like a flashing light. Deleted.

I guess its okay, althought, I dont really like how the woman speaks, but its a good app anyways.

Includes English words in English-to-Spanish translations. Example: try, "Do you know where the hotel is?"

GET RID OF THE PART I HAVE TO DELETE EVERY TIME THAT SAYS "Enter text for translation" you bumbling fools. Do this and change your silly icon and watch your downloads soar!

Works well so far.

Seems to do what it says it does. However I opted not to download the packs for photo recognition at setup. Regular translation still works fine offline despite that. Only downside is that it asks you to purchase the upgrade before it does each translation.
